About
Welcome to Kwanda Snooker
Kwanda Snooker is an empowering enterprise™ dedicated to empowering township traders by providing them with opportunities to earn extra income through our locally manufactured pool tables.
We partner with businesses such as pubs, taverns, spaza shops, gaming lounges, restaurants, car washes, chisa-nyamas, sports clubs, and other entertainment venues, enabling them to attract more customers and generate additional revenue.
Our pool tables are either purchased by the traders themselves or funded through our corporate sponsorship program. Leading companies, particularly in the FMCG sector, sponsor these tables, offering township entrepreneurs a boost while gaining valuable brand exposure.
Each sponsored table is custom-branded with the sponsor's colors, creating a strong presence in the community.
Snooker and pool are beloved games in South African townships, and through our initiative, we aim to elevate the game while driving economic growth for local businesses.

Our Why
Once Upon A Time...
Our founder, Lemo Motshwane, was inspired by the fond memories of playing pool at the local "spaza-café" in his hometown of Makapstand during the 90s. He wanted to bring that same sense of joy and community to today’s youth. Unfortunately, snooker, or pool as it's commonly known in South Africa, has become less accessible to young people. The decline of traditional township economies, with spaza shops transforming from brick-and-mortar establishments to container-based stores, has contributed to this shift. These shops were once community hubs where people gathered to play pool, but this tradition has faded over time.
We aim to revive this beloved game by partnering with various township operators such as pubs, taverns, spaza owners, gaming lounges, restaurateurs, car washes, chisanyamas, and sports clubs. Through these partnerships, we not only bring pool back to the community but also create employment opportunities and enhance recreational activities for the youth.
